Govind Sagar Lake Biaspur, Himachal Pradesh

Govind Sagar Lake

The Lake is situated in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the man made reservoir on the Sutlej. It came into existance after Bhakra dam constructed. The name of the reservoir is referred to honour of Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh. The American dam builder started working on 1955 to built this and completed in the year of 1962. The reservoir linked with Bilaspur and Una District. The length of the Govind Sagar reservoir is 56 km and aproximately 3 km breadth. During the time period of august to january many sports activies are held such as water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, river rafting, surfing, swimming, etc.
