Chamunda Devi Temple

Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the famous temple of Chamunda Devi, situated in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. It is approximately ten kilometer far from Palampur. It is situated on Baner River. Approximately four hundred years ago the King prayed devi to permit him to move his temple to other best place. The Devi appeared in king's dream and gave her the consent and show him the location where an ancient idol would be found. Devi told him that install that idol into the temple and worshiped as her form. Next day the king went to the location with some soldiers to bring the idol. They find it, but don't able to lift it. After some day the Devi again appeared in king's dream. The king told her that they find it but its so hard to lift that. The Devi tell him the process, how can he lift that. Next day king wake up and after taking the bath, prayer went to the location. The king easily did as the Devi told him. He told to the people that its all was the power to Goddess. The name of Devi is combinations of two monsters named as Chanda and Munda, which Devi killed.
