Prashar Lake, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

Prashar Lake:-

Parashar Lake is well known for floating island, which move around the lake and every month it moves on different location in the lake. The distance of Parasher lake form Mandi is approximately 49 kilometers. The lake is situated at the height of 2730 on sea level. The Parashar Rishi Temple was incorporated in thirteenth century. This temple was built from a single tree by a little baby. According to Mythology the lake was formed by the Pandavas after the Mahabharata. By the request of Bheemsen, one of the Pandav brother pushing his forearm, elbow on the peak of the mountain and thats the reason the oval shaped lake. The Prashar lake and its temple are available for visitor in the months of winter. Today their are some hotels available with basic facilities on reasonable prices. In the year of 2014, the lake and Prashar Temple was wholly covered with heavy snow.
