Viceregal Lodge and Botanical Gardens

The Viceregal Lodge is located in Observatory hills, which is mainly known as Rashtrapati Niwas. During the British rule, this building was the residence of Viceroy Lord Dufferin. The lodge was built in the year of 1888 and mules are used to carry all the bricks. It has six story and equipped with well maintained garden or lawns. With in a few year the building was converted into Indian Institute of Advanced Study. The location where the Lodge is located is enthralling and tourist came here to seen the ancient building or beauty of Shimla.
