Kalatop santuary in a wild animal santuary situated at Khajjiar in Chamba District. It is also a tracking spot and trourist especially visit this santuary. The santuary has hug range of deodar trees are spread all over. This wild sentuary has various types of animals like as pheasants, blck bear and serow which are the charm of this sentuary. It is bordered by oak and coniferous forests and located on edge of ravi river. The perfect time to visit at the santuary in the month of March to May. The tourist can reach to Kalatop santuary by road, rail and air.

About Chamba

Chamba is one of the ancient towns in Himachal Pradesh. The town is located on the banks of the Ravi river. The town is bordered by Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Kangra. During the ancient time, this town was ruled by the Maru dynasty ruling from Bharmour. During the time period of 1920, Raja Sahil Varman made Chamba as a capital and as the request of his daughter (Champavati), the king setup the name of Chamba. The Chamba was ruled by approximately 67 kings. The town has various temples, palaces and every year two major fairs held named as Minjar Mela and Suhi Mata Mela. The town is also well known for its crafts and arts or specially for its Pahari Painting. Manimahesh is one of the famous area in chamba district.
