Taj Mahal Agra, India


The Taj Mahal is counted among the seven wonders in the world. It is known as a token of love, which build by a husband in the memory of his dear wife. It is located on the southern bank of Yamuna river in Agra, India. The Taj Mahal construction work was started in the year of 1632 by the commissioned of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. He built this for its favorite wife named as Mumtaz. The construction work of Taj Mahal was completed in the year of 1643 but some works continued which take approximately ten years to complete. The construction project have more than 20,000 artisans which worked under the guidance of Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. Taj Mahal is one of the best example of Mughal architecture which is recognized as the jewel of Muslim art in India. Taj Mahal is one of the most celebrated structures in the world and also a symbol of rich history of India. Each year the Taj Mahal attract more than three million tourists. During the time period of 2007, it was declared that it is one of the seven wonders in the world. The tomb is the main focal center of the Taj Mahal. The external decoration of Taj Mahal show the finest architecture of Mughal. The interior chamber of the Mahal is well furnished with decorative elements. The complex of Taj Mahal is approximately three hundred square called Charbagh and path divide it in four quarters. The whole complex is bordered by crenellated red sandstone walls from three sides. The graves of the Shahjahan and the Mumtaj Mahal had made in the Taj Mahal.
